A Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társaság kutatási pályázata
A Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társaság az AstraZeneca Kft., a Bayer Magyarország Kft, az Egis Nyrt., a GlaxoSmithKline Kft.,a Janssen-Cilag Kft., a Novartis Kft., a Pfizer Kft., a Richter Gedoon Nyrt., Roche Kft., a Sandoz Kft., a Sanofi Aventis Zrt. támogatásával pályázatot hirdet a klinikai onkológiai területén végzett klinikai kutatás támogatására.
A kutatási pályázat témája: A daganatos betegek gyógyszeres kezelésével foglalkozó klinikai kutatási munka.
A kutatási pályázat formája: Egy éves kutatási terv beadása. A pályázatnak tartalmaznia kell a kutatás célkitűzését, a kutatás felépítését, várható eredményeit.
A kutatási pályázat határideje: 2010. október 1.
A pályázatokat a Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társaság címére (1097 Budapest, Gyáli út 5-7.) kell eljuttatni. A pályázatokat a Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társaság Tudományos Bizottsága bírálja el.
A győztes a Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társasággal kötött szerződése alapján kutatási eredményeiről beszámolási kötelezettséget vállal Magyar Klinikai Onkológiai Társaság 2010. évi Kongresszusán.

DUMC's Divisions of Hematology and Medical Oncology offer a flexible 2-4 year training program in both hematology and oncology leading to eligibility for board certification in either subspecialty or both. The training of all Fellows combines clinical responsibility with research experience. The Program has an average of eighteen fellows in different stages of training and provides clinical and laboratory training in hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplantation, coagulation and blood banking.
The first year of the fellowship is spent in intensive clinical training in both hematology and oncology. During this period the fellows work closely with members of the faculty, evaluating patients and organizing their therapy in the context of ongoing programs at the Duke University Medical Center and the Durham Veterans Administration Hospital.
Fellows pursuing a 3-year program for dual board eligibility usually spend an additional two years in either clinical or laboratory research; a wide variety of experiences is available both within and outside the Divisions. For those fellows who pursue a single track in hematology or oncology, three to six months of the second year is spent on advanced clinical training in either hematology or oncology. The remainder of the time is spent in laboratory or clinical research.
Opportunities are provided during the entire program for longitudinal care of outpatients in the Fellows' Clinic at the V.A. Medical Center and at Duke Medical Center. Tailored to the needs of the individual, the training program emphasizes the multidisciplinary approach to oncological problems, applied research, advanced problems in hemostasis and thrombosis, and experiences in transfusion therapy and immunohematology.

EAGC-AVON tudományos pályázat
Az Európai Nőgyógyászati Rák Akadémia (EAGC) az AVON Cosmetics Hungary Kft. Támogatásával 10 pályázatot hirdet „Az emlőrák molekuláris kórjóslati jelzői” címmel. A pályázatok célja olyan molekuláris kórjóslati tényezők (prognosztikai faktorok) tanulmányozása, amelyek esetleg majd beépíthetők a klinikai gyakorlatba. További célkitűzés az emlőrák molekuláris genetikai vizsgálatait végző hazai kutatók munkájának összehangolása. Ennek érdekében egy országos gén- és adatbank létrehozása is a tervek között szerepel. A kutatások nemzetközi együttműködésben is végezhetők. Egy-egy pályázat futamideje legfeljebb 1,5 év. A kutatás eredményeit tudományos közlemény formájában kell összefoglalni, és egy nemzetközi (impakt faktorral rendelkező), valamint hazai folyóiratban megjelentetni. A közlemény(ek)ben fel kell tüntetni, hogy a kutatás az EAGC-AVON pályázat támogatásával valósult meg. A pályázatok beadása folyamatos. EORTC offers research fellowship: BIOSTATISTICIAN
The EORTC is a Brussels-based international organisation under Belgian law whose aims are to promote and coordinate cancer research in Europe. It operates through a network of more than 460 hospitals on an international basis and addresses both preclinical and clinical aspects of cancer treatment.
The EORTC offers a one-year research fellowship whose aim is for the trainee to acquire a detailed knowledge of the practical conduct of cancer clinical trials. This ideally would suit a: BIOSTATISTICIAN (m/f)
The Fellowship offers an excellent opportunity to learn the methodology for the design and analysis of cancer clinical trials and to undertake research on the design of phase II cancer clinical trials using progression free survival as endpoint. This work will result in scientific publications and the presentation of the results at key oncology conferences.

ESMO Technology Transfer Grants are available to medical oncologists in training, wishing to spend up to 3 months in a European laboratory/clinic to learn a specific technique relevant to medical oncology. The grant is also available to non-medical staff, (e.g. pharmacists, nurses, laboratory technicians, etc.), who are involved in the clinical/laboratory program of an ESMO member, who must be a medical oncologist. The applicant, in agreement with her or his supervisor, may apply for up to 3 months of financial support to learn a specific technique, which will then be applied, upon return, in the home institute. The UICC Trish Greene International Oncology Nursing Fellowships are funded by the Oncology Nursing Society (USA) and their related corporations: the ONS Foundation, Oncology Education Services, Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. The objectives of these fellowships are to provide an opportunity for qualified nurses to augment their professional knowledge and experience in the fields of
cancer education programmes for prevention and early detection
patient counselling
safe drug handling
palliative care
pain assessment
quality of life issues
through short‑term observerships at a renowned comprehensive cancer centre in Australia, North America, the United Kingdom, India or Singapore; and in France or Spain for French or Spanish speakers (see list of co-operating cancer centres). Registered nurses or nurse educators, who are actively engaged in the management of cancer patients or training of nurses in low income countries, and who can communicate effectively in the language of the host centre, are eligible to apply. In addition, the scope of the scheme has been extended to include the funding of cancer nursing experts from developed countries to travel to developing or East European countries to teach specific cancer nursing skills. Currently, 10-14 fellowships with an average value of US$ 2,800 are awarded each year. Applications, complete with all supporting documentation must be received by the UICC Geneva Office by the application closing date of 1 November. Selection results will be notified in mid-February the following year and projects may start without delay. To obtain an invitation from a prospective IONF host centre, candidates must, in addition to their curriculum vitae, send to the host centre a copy of their project description. This should provide adequate background information on the situation in the home hospital and on the specific training sought. It should describe how the newly acquired knowledge would be applied and benefit cancer patients, and how it would be disseminated to other staff upon return. Projects need the approval of the candidate's home and host supervisors and should be formulated in such a way that they may be accomplished successfully within the duration applied for. The usual fellowship duration is 1 month. However, this period could be extended of up to 3 months if the fellow has secured agreement and sufficient funding from the home and/or host organisations for the extended period. No additional funds would be provided by UICC. Projects must be realistically achievable in the duration applied for. UICC also contributes to the least expensive international two‑way (return) air fare or other appropriate form of transport. Travel awards do not include costs for national travel within the home and/or host countries. These and extra costs for visa, passports, airport taxes etc. are the responsibility of the Fellow. No financial support is provided for dependants. Candidates who are already physically present at the proposed host organisation whilst their applications are under consideration are not eligible for UICC fellowships. Ösztöndíj tudományos kutatásért
A Széchenyi István Ösztöndíj Alapítvány pályázata.
Az alapítvány 1-12 hónapos külföldi ösztöndíjat biztosít a műszaki, gazdasági, orvosi, agrár- és természettudományok területén kiemelkedő teljesítményt nyújtó fiatal kutatóknak, szakembereknek. Az elbírálásnál előnyben részesülnek azok, akik tudományos fokozattal rendelkeznek.
Pályázni minden év január elsejétől augusztus 31-éig, folyamatosan lehet. Az évente egyszer beérkező pályázatokról a kuratórium októberi ülésén dönt.

Studentships: MSc Oncology
The School of Molecular Medical Sciences, The University of Nottingham, UK is pleased to announce THREE Cancer Research UK sponsored studentships for the MSc in Oncology.
The course is suitable for clinicians and health care professionals who require further training in the molecular aspects of oncology and for scientists and other graduates who wish to learn more about the theoretical and practical aspects of the causes and treatment of cancer.
Preference for the award of a studentship will be given to clinicans, those in professions allied to medicine or, if not clinically qualified, who have been at least 2 years from the date of their undergraduate degree.
Studentships will cover payment of tuition fees, a bursary for full-time students, registration fees for specified research meetings and a contribution towards the purchase of text books.
Course duration: 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time (day release)
This fellowship scheme is intended to assist cancer researchers, preferably less than 35 years old, to advance their research. The scheme is open to members and non-members of the Association but all applicants must be sponsored by two members of the EACR.
These Fellowships are intended to support research on the basis of technical exchange, including participation at workshops and courses, rather than to finance the attendance of meetings.
The value of each award is up to 2000 euro.
